GEAR UP Academic Camps

Summer and academic year learning opportunities for students is of paramount importance to the comprehensive programming to ensure that Louisiana high school students are prepared for the post secondary opportunities they choose to pursue. For each academic strand, there is one online summer learning experience and an academic year learning experience. The four content strands of programming include Physics, Scientific Visualization, Cyber and Engineering, & Education and Leadership.

Students must register by the dates below to reserve a camp spot. Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Vista - June 7th
  • Physics - June 28th
  • Leadership - June 28th
  • Eng/Cyber - July 5th

During the camp, you will be introduced to a variety of information and skills directly connected to certification opportunities.  We will provide information concerning the following opportunities you can explore after camp!
  • Psychological First Aid on Coursera
    The Psychological First Aid course is offered by John Hopkins University through Coursera. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate in Psychological First Aid. The course may take up to 5 weeks to complete.

Join us as we introduce you to leadership concepts. Each day we will investigate an essential skill for professionals and learn technology tools that can be used with that skill. You will have opportunities to earn badges for activities completed with prizes being awarded at the end of the camp!
