How do you enter the Region II Science & Engineering Fair?
The road to the Region II Science and Engineering Fair starts in elementary, middle, and high schools across Region II which encompasses the following parishes: Bienville, Claiborne, Jackson, Lincoln, Union, or Winn parishes. Students compete in their school-level fairs to advance to the regional fair. Junior and Senior Divisions have the opportunity to advance from the Regional Science and Engineering Fair to Louisiana State event.

Your first step is to find out all that you can about your school fair. Check with your school to find out the sponsor and then contact your sponsor to receive a timeline of events for your local science and engineering fair. Step Two: Project Approval
The initial review and approval for your project takes place at your school before you may begin experimentation. This should complete the initial review and approval as early as possible in the fall semester or even prior to give you plenty of time to complete your research and prepare your project.
There are a variety of forms to complete during the project approval step as well as throughout your entire process. All participants need to complete Forms 1 and 1a. Please note the Research Plan and Abstract Form which includes 21 categories must accompany Form 1a. Be sure to check the appropriate category on the Abstract Form.
The most common forms related to approval which are required for all Junior and Senior Division projects are are follows: Checklist for Adult Sponsor, Research Plan (with minimum of five references), Approval Form (Read carefully, and double check dates and signatures), and Official Abstract.
Depending on the nature of the project, there may be additional approval dorms and procedures required. All students, working with their sponsor, should complete the Rules Wizard to determine if any additional forms are required.
