TECH Summer Successes for 2020

In partnership with LOSFA (Louisiana Office of Student Financial Aid), Louisiana Tech University conducted four GEAR-UP Summer Learning Camps and three professional development session for teachers. The experiences were delivered electronically due to Covid-19 restrictions. More than 150 individuals reserved a spot for one or more offered learning experiences. Select programming was offered to all 12,000 GEAR UP students, and materials are also being crafted to distribute through the academic year based on the summer success!

Students, "liked how all the other campers tried to help them with terminology there were not familiar with. They stated that all the campers worked together on projects, which made the camp “fun.”
Students, "enjoyed how the professors taught the class," and," said that the professors made the concepts easy to grasp."
Students indicated, "that professors made sure each student understood what was being taught."
